Terms of Service
The short version: JOSAI helps you run your job search. Be honest with it, don't abuse it, and remember it's an assistant — the decisions and the applications are yours. During the beta it's free; if that changes, you'll know well in advance.
1. What JOSAI is
JOSAI is a personal AI job-search service operated by PMB Software ("we," "us"). It finds and scores job postings against your resume, checks whether postings appear genuinely active, researches companies, tailors application documents, and helps you prepare for interviews. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, govern your use of the service.
2. Your account
You sign in with a Google account and must be at least 16. Keep your account to yourself — you're responsible for activity under it. One account per person; accounts are personal to you and not transferable.
3. Beta status
JOSAI is in beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed; occasional maintenance windows will be announced in advance; and despite our backups and care, you should treat the beta as a living product. We work hard to protect your data (see the Privacy Policy), and you can export it at any time.
4. Fees
The beta is free, and your first month is free regardless. If paid plans arrive, we'll give existing users clear notice and a real choice before anything starts costing money — no silent conversions, no surprise charges.
5. Your content
Your resume, your notes, your job search — yours. You keep all rights to what you upload and create. You give us only the limited license needed to operate the service on your behalf (store your resume, send excerpts to our AI provider for analysis, generate documents you request). We claim no ownership, ever.
6. AI honesty clause
JOSAI's scores, research, ghost-job assessments, and generated documents are produced by AI. They can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. "Likely Ghost Job" is a probability call on public signals, not a fact; a tailored resume is a draft for your review, not a submission-ready guarantee; company research may contain errors. Review everything before you rely on it — especially documents you send to employers. The weekly coach’s note and suggested next steps are automated observations drawn from your own tracked activity — helpful prompts, not professional career advice. JOSAI is not a recruiter, employment agency, or career counselor, and no outcome — interviews, offers, employment — is promised or implied.
7. Acceptable use
Don't: use JOSAI for anyone's job search but your own (or resell access); upload content you don't have rights to; attempt to access other users' data; probe, overload, or disrupt the service; use it for spam or bulk unsolicited outreach; or violate the terms of the third-party services it connects to (Google, LinkedIn's user agreement as it applies to you, employers' sites). We may suspend accounts that do.
8. Third-party services
JOSAI connects to services we don't control: Google (sign-in and optional Gmail), Anthropic (AI processing), public employer job boards, and our hosting providers. Their availability affects ours, and your use of Google services through JOSAI is also governed by Google's terms. Gmail access is optional, read-only for scanning, and revocable by you at any time.
9. Termination
You can delete your account whenever you like — everything goes per the Privacy Policy's deletion terms. We can suspend or close accounts for violations of these Terms, with notice and a chance to export your data except in cases of abuse.
10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PMB Software's total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim; we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost opportunities, lost employment, or lost data beyond our backup obligations.
11. Changes to these Terms
If these Terms change materially, we'll email account holders and post the update with a new effective date before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
